UNITED LUV

Today's post is a little different than my normal recipes and pictures. I wanted to share something I had ordered and received in the mail yesterday.

It is a United Luv sticker and  I learned about it from a girl's blog that I love to read (http://rabbitfoodformybunnyteeth.com/). This company started after one of her friends was diagnosed with cancer and when he was in the hospital his family bought him an iPad so that he could connect with the outside world. So him and his brother decided to start a company so that they could buy more iPads for other's that are in the hospital with cancer. If you want to read the entire story please go to her blog above, it truly is touching. It really hit me hard when I read it because I like many have had someone die from cancer. But the worst part was she was a 10 year old little girl that I babysat from the time she was born. Her name was Aylssa and she was honestly sent here to be an angel for so many people I truly believe that. She lights up everyone's life even to this day and will always hold a special place in my heart. So if I can do anything to support anyone with cancer or help support to find the cure. I will do anything in my power to do so. I hope you will too.

Here is the link to order shirts, stickers, etc. http://www.unitedluv.com/# . I just received my sticker and can't wait to put on my car. I can't wait to get my tee shirt too. Also if you look above you can see where they even write you a hand written thank you note. I have never seen that before and it honestly made my week. So please support the cause today.

Hard Work Pays Off

As you all know I have been working really hard to change my eating habits and basically living a healthier lifestyle. I have never shared any before or after (well I'll never be officially finished) so I found these two pictures and thought I would share them. They are both taken in the same restaurant and in the same booth. The first one is the weekend I decided to change my life to a healthy lifestyle , which was 109 days ago. The second one was just last weekend.

Seeing these two pictures right beside each other I can personally tell a big difference and could not be happier. This motivates me even more. I joined a gym and it is finally opening tomorrow. I can't wait to start sharing my fitness adventures with you. I hope you all will continue to join me and this new life I have created. A happy, healthy, exciting life.

No Flab Pizza Casserole

Last night I wanted to try something different but I was craving pizza. I am defiantly a pizza lover, I could probably eat it ever other day. Now my hips, belly and thighs wouldn't be happy with me if I did that, especially because I am really able to tell a big difference in myself since I started 109 days ago. So I decided to try something that might turn out delicious or horrible but I was willing to try.
And thank goodness it turned out delicious.

What you will need
1 medium head of cauliflower
1 egg
2 tablespoons of non fat greek yogurt
1 tablespoon of organic low fat butter (Smart Balance)
pizza sauce (low in sugar)
turkey pepperonis
Italian seasoning
skim mozzarella cheese

Preheat oven 375'

Start by chopping up your cauliflower and put into mixing bowl (microwave safe)
Then microwave fore 7 minutes
Then add your yogurt and butter and microwave again for 6 minutes.
Make sure at this point the cauliflower is very soft.

Add turkey pepperonis ( I added 10), 1 egg and Italian seasoning.

Put entire mixture in blender and blend.

Pour into oven safe dish,

add your pizza sauce,

and your toppings.

Then let cook for 30 minutes.

Once it is fully cooked let sit for about 10 minutes to cool.

Then enjoy! I added crushed red pepper and Parmesan cheese on top.
This will probably be my new go to recipe. Defiantly worth trying if you are a pizza lover like me.

After I sat down and enjoyed my No Flab Pizza Casserole and watched an episode of Seinfeld. I knew I needed to go ahead and pack my lunch for today.

I started with my mid day snack. I first grilled my green peppers and added a little crushed red pepper for spice. Then I added my two eggs to the mix and let everything cook together. This is very filling and healthy.

I also went ahead and filled my blender with all the ingredients for my morning smoothie, (except the liquids) that way this morning all I had to do is add the liquids and hit start. I'm not much of a morning person so I try to get as much done at night that way I can sleep a few extra minutes. Yes I am still that girl that lays her clothes out (in human shape, even with jewelry) at night. Don't judge. :) Altough this morning for some reason it was extra hard for me to get out of bed, so as you can see my hair is still a little wet and will be braided shortly.

The Perfect Work Lunch

For my birthday my parents bought me a new blender because mine broke and I think I am a little rough on mine (and I always by the cheap ones) But this blender is just perfect. It's funny how excited I get about a nice blender but let me tell you I use a blender ever day. I make smoothies, shakes, homemade sauces, salsa, I could go on and on but I think you get the point. So I was really excited to test this baby out last night. I decided to have a peanut butter shake for dinner since I had a large lunch. My mom would have loved it, she is obsessed with peanut butter.

What you will need
1  1/2 tablespoons of reduced fat peanut butter
1 tablespoon of non fat greek yogurt
1 cup of almond milk (original, not flavored, 1 cup is only 60 calories)
and a few ice cups

After I sipped on my delicious shake and flipped through the tv trying to to find something worth watching, I decided to go ahead and pack my lunch for today.

I am a huge breakfast person, it is my favorite meal of the day and well if I don't eat it I am kind of a zombie the rest of the day. So today I am starting my morning off with a Strawberry Mango Smoothie.
Then later when my belly starts to growl I have 2 eggs and grilled green peppers to snack on. Later on in the day I am going to finish the work day with a fresh romaine grilled chicken salad.
This looks just perfect to me!

Now I will eat dinner but I never decide that until I get home!

Also I have found a new find that I am obsessed with. I have been trying to give up all soda not just diet mountain dew but I still have a few diet cokes or sprite zeros. Well that might all be over now. I was at the grocery store last night a found a drink call Sparkling Ice and they have all different flavors. It is naturally flavored sparkling mountain water with zero calories, packed with vitamins and antioxidants.

What you will need for my Strawberry Mango Smoothie
1 cup of fresh strawberries
1/2 fresh mango
2/ tablespoons of non fat greek yogurt
1 cup almond milk

Then you have your breakfast on the go!

Day 107:
Breakfast: Strawberry Mango Smoothie
Snack: 2 eggs and grilled peppers
Lunch: grilled chicken salad with low fat yogurt dressing
Snack: fresh bowl of fruit and almonds
Dinner: I went to a cookout and had 1 grilled lean cheeseburger with onion and ketchup no bun with baked beans

Relay for Life and Life at 27

I started my birthday weekend off by going back to my hometown to go to Relay for Life. My best friends mom is fighting ( kickin it's rear) beast cancer, so I wouldn't have wanted to be anywhere else but there to support Team Angie!

Family, friends, husbands, wife's, sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, grandfathers, grandmothers all came together to show support for those that have lost the battle to cancer and to those that are fighting the hardest battle they will probably have to fight in their life.

The bf and I, it was great that he didn't even think twice about wearing a bright neon pink shirt:)

My mother and I.
