Hello World

Hi everyone!!
My name is Melissa and this is how LittleBlueDress got started...

After Christmas 2013 I realized that I wasn't living life to the fullest. I had become somewhat of a couch potato. I would look at myself in the mirror and see someone who wanted so badly to live a healthier lifestyle but wasn't quite sure how to get started. Then that day came and boy it hit me like a rock. I was with some of my girlfriends trying on bridesmaids dresses and when it got to my turn to get measured I found myself embarrassed to be measured in front of the other girls. At that moment I thought to myself am I going to live like this the rest of my life. Just thinking about it made me exhausted. I knew I had to do something that day. I was no longer going to put it off another day. And so the LittleBlueDress challenge was born. (I bet you can guess the bridesmaids dress was blue) On my friends wedding day I wanted to be happy with myself when I slipped on that dress and walked down that aisle in support of my friend. The last thing I wanted to think about is, oh my goodness these pictures are going to be horrible. I am my worst critic but I am always my best motivator. I am the type of person to set goals and I will do anything to reach them. So that day I set my goals that I wanted to reach and that was it, I was going to succeed.
So I started this blog to keep myself accountable and motivated. It was also a fun way to share pictures. Through this journey that I have been traveling I never thought that I would reach as many goals that I have. I have become someone I never thought I could become. It is amazing how such small things that you change in your daily life can change so much. I have always been a happy , bubbly, goofy, a little "blonde" person but I think deep down I have also had issues with my weight. But what I didn't realize was that the only person that can do something about it is me. I had to realize that there is no easy fix. You literally have to change your lifestyle for good. Diets might be a quick fix but honestly most the time you gain it back, right? Now that I have completely changed my lifestyle I feel like the issues that I previously had have been overshadowed with the fact that I have learned to love myself for me. I don't need to be a size 0 to be happy. As long as I am healthy and happy with myself nothing else matters. I have been living this new lifestyle for over 200 days and I honestly can say that I have never been happier and for the first time in my life I love myself.
So if you get anything from my blog get this, you have to learn to love yourself first and you have to find out what works best for you to help you become a healthier, happier person. Everyone is different, some things work for certain people. Find your lifestyle and start today. Believe me, it will be the best thing you ever do for yourself.
